Kokeshi dolls are Japanese traditional dolls and are made of wood. They were toys for children in the first place and that is the reason why it has a slim body so that children can grasp easily. There are two main types of kokeshi dolls, which are traditional kokeshi and new type kokeshi dolls. Cutting and printing of traditional kokeshi doll is processed with a wood lathe machine. The traditional kokeshi gives importance to the continuity of design and technique, but the new type kokeshi doll is created with free-wheeling thinking of its creator, and it is called Creative kokeshi doll geneally nowadays.
